Writ of Idiota Inquirenda Issues To Political Idiots

While it's true that being an Idiot is not against the law, apparently at some time it was. Black's Law Dictionary is considered the "bible" in any law firm. It contains legal definitions and terminology back to the days when we were ruled by England, and farther back still. In my career as a paralegal, I used Black's many times and one day stumbled upon what, at the time, was simply hilarious to me. Now, in hindsight, maybe it wasn't so funny after all.

An "Idiot" in Black's Law Dictionary is defined, in law, as "a natural Fool, a Changeling." Alright, that's good to know.

A "Writ of Idiota Inquirenda" is defined in Black's as "a Writ to the Sheriff to examine the party suspected of Idiocy and to certify the matter into Chancery." The Chancery is akin to our American civil courts handling property disputes, contracts, issues of equity. But one function I found particularly amusing was the administration of the estates of lunatics . I read that to mean that if you are found to be an Idiot, you get institutionalized by the government and your properties, income and assets are taken by the same government.

Do you see where I'm going with this? I mean, if we could herd up just the political Idiots alone, institutionalize them, and confiscate their properties, income and assets, we could probably pay off half of the U.S. debt. Are you following me?

Clearly, Idiots have been in our midst since the beginning of time, the only difference between then and now being that in the old days, they sought out the Idiots and institutionalized them, whereas now-a-days, we glorify them and elect them as public officials, even President. (Wow, in that light, who are the Idiots now? That is freakishly frightening. Thank God that's not where I am going with this but I definitely see the humor in it! Ugh!)

So now you are probably wondering to whom I deem a Writ should issue. I would actually love your input, readers, as I want to be as thorough as possible. Please submit the name of your local political Idiot (preferably a public figure, someone I can look up and read about, not your unassuming neighbor) with a short explanation of their particular brand of Idiocy, and once researched, the name will be included in my "comprehensive list".

COME NOW THE LEGAL CITIZENS OF THESE UNITED STATES, and hereby request that this court issue a Writ of Idiota Inquirenda to the Sheriffs of each jurisdiction in which the above-named Defendants live, demanding these Defendants, and each of them, to produce themselves at a time and date certain to submit to tests for determination as to whether they are Idiots.

If found to be Idiots, any or each of them, the Plaintiffs request that these so-adjudicated Idiots be forever institutionalized.

Plaintiffs further request that all properties, income and assets of these Idiots be confiscated by the Legal Citizens of These United States, with the sole purpose of being applied to the national debt.

Time is of the essence. Given the direness of these requests, and the contagion of Idiocy currently rampant in the United States which is causally connected to the behavior of the alleged Idiots named herein, Plaintiffs also request that this court order that any legal citizen not a party to this lawsuit who demonstrates a tendency toward Idiocy, that such persons can be and shall be immediately tested for Idiocy.

A comprehensive list identifying each of these Idiots, individually, will be provided in a subsequent filing. Information is currently being gathered so that we can be as complete as possible in our submission in the hopes of curbing the lunacy as quickly as possible. Idiots are created every minute, undoubtedly, but if we can stop the insurgence, we may be able to get the Idiocy under control and get our country back.
